I want to wish a very happy new year 2019 to all of you!!
May it be successful, full of joy and laughter, spiced up with a hint of an adventure and with the sweetness of love!
My year 2018 ended, and this new ongoing year 2019 began ~170km north from the Arctic circle, where I had the priviledge to live and work 6 weeks in a village called Äkäslompolo.
Äkäslompolo is a gourgeous place, surrounded by 7 fells and has a lake in the middle of the village.
It is a place perfect for nature lovers and outdoorsy people all year round, in every season.
Lapland in general, is a wonderful, beautiful, magical region to visit.
And it is now proven, that I actually do enjoy winter, as long as it is a proper winter with lots of snow and well below - 1C .
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend 5 weeks in northern Iceland last year at wintertime, and now I got to enjoy Lapland also at winter, and I not only survived it, but also enjoyed it.
I wish I could have stayed here longer, to experience the spring, and summer as well, but unfortunately my efforts to find more work here to stay longer,didn't pay up, and I have to go back south.
So, a bit sad about that, feel sorry to leave those fells and wide open spaces behind me.
I am so NOT a city-girl, I suffer there....too much people, too much noise, too much everything.
I loved walking on the frozen lake, and felt so peaceful there, in harmony with the surrounding nature.
All those soft, pastel colours on the sky, the trees dressed up on white like in a wedding dress, and barely few people there, on far distance...it was like being on Narnia, again.
I have had an opportunity to go through that closet and visit Narnia quite a few times already, and I love it every time.
It always takes me somewhere magical, it always inspires me and tickles up my imagination, it blows my mind.
But my adventure now is about to end, and I can see the back of the closet in front of me already...
