Cherry on the cake

I am tired of being that cherry on your cake,
I am tired of being that raisin on your sweet bun .
I am tired of being shelved, and picked up only, when it is suitable for you -
for your needs, when you have the time.

It doesn't work like that,
not by the long shot.
You don't deserve the best of me,
if you fail to be there at my worst.
You don't deserve my time and concern,
if you don't bother ask how my day was.

It's a two-way street,
it takes two to tango.
I am happy singing in the rain at my own company.
If you wanna fit under the same umbrella,
if you wanna dance in the rain with me,
stop picking the cherries - eat the whole darn cake, or leave the table.
