Survival of the fittest
That's what it is, life. It is everywhere you look at,
not just among other species, when you watch the nature documents.
It is here, at this very moment, somebody somewhere is born.
Somebody somewhere will take her/his last breath.
The whole life, from birth to death, is a competition.
You will be tested, both mentally and physically, are you strong enough..
..are you fit enough to survive this game,
the game called life.
Obstacles are been set in front of you, land mines, one after another.
Are you sharp enough? Are you alert? How do you take your steps? Do you somehow, with your wits and inner strenght, manage to avoid the pit holes, those mines?
If you do succeed, good for you. Just don't get too comfortable, it is not over yet. You passed one test, you are now on the other level of the game.
The tests get more strenous, more challenging in each level.
The higher you get, the harder are the challenges.
Until there are left only those, who are the fittest,fastest,strongest...the Apex predators.
However, there is a problem in this test, we are not given the same tools to make it through. The whole game is a big cheat, because the players,us, is not given the even chances.
The game, right from the moment when the first dice is thrown, is unfair.
For some, the whole life is a struggle, from that first breath. They are never given the slightest of chances, they never see it coming. Their game is over before it even started.
Then there are those, who are given everything to win, and they still cheat. They play ugly: they bully, they always go over where the fence is lowest, they change the rules for their own benefit.
They cheat through their whole lives, and they think they are the winners, the Apex.
They may have the money, the power,to make it look that they have indeed succeeded,it is all just a one big scam. They are loud, aggressive, they smell the smalkest hint of weakness on others, and they attack.
They attack just for the fun of it, to harm,to destroy.
Nobody was asked to be bornt,it was not our decision to be made.
But once we are here, we have to participate, whether we like it or not.
We have to go through this game called life, with the cards we were given, and make the best out of it.
You can play the game fair, you can challenge yourself, you can actually survive it - and you don't have to destroy others while doing it.
But be very careful of those ones, who cheat.
Build those walls to protect you, if you must. However, let the sun come in.
Run, walk, or even crawl, but never quit.
Take a break to breath, but don't give up.
Don't give up on life, beat the cheaters by your own rules, being fair and honest.
In the end, you might not be the Great white shark or the lion, sometimes the seal and the caribou gets lucky too.
You never know, so don't give up!
With love: Ann " Annie" O'Songland
